Fandom can write sixteen pages about Bucky not drinking milk, or draw tons of fanart with Clint and the twins, but can’t spare a single moment to talk about the nuanced relationship that is Nick and Natasha. 

Two super spies who keep things so close to the chest you have to pry trust out of them with steel pliers. They’re not father/daughter, they’re not friends, but they are something, they are family in a way. They’re two people who have both seen and experienced the worst of the world but retained their goodness. Their honor, and a strong desire to protect is instilled in both of them. 

They don’t show much affection for others, but they do show this wonderful subtle affection that speaks of years of trust, and faith in each other.
